Welsh Team landed at 12.00 on Sunday. it's 100 degrees and feels like no air to breath !
First report back from Greece. The temperature out there is 95 deg plus and by 11.00am it's too hot to walk outside. Only place to go is the air conditioned bar.The Welsh Lads have been out at the crack of dawn to walk tests before the sun gets up but they say it is definitely a bit cooler out of the town and up in the hills. No word yet on the going or the tests. The organisers have altered the signing on schedule to allow the lads to get signed on tonight (Tues), so they plan to get it done with and of the way.
The Welsh Team have all passed throught the scruitineering checks with no probelms so the bikes are now locked up in Parc Ferme until the start of event on Monday. Three tests left to walk before the start.
The ISDE Results Live System crashed at test 4 so not able to report much detail. However I have had a text off Andrew to confirm that dust is a major problem especialy on the tests. Difficult to see where the deep ruts are as they are shrouded in a cloud of dust. A bit like riding in talcolm powder. Both Welsh teams finished without problems, unofficial positions below.Andrew Edwards (168th, 13th in class), Jon Hinam (187th), Tim Forman (198th), Gethin Price (205th), David Brick (210th), Craig Bounds (261st).
Day 1
Much the same as yesterday but deeper ruts and more dust. You need to be brave and take risks to do good test times. A fair few riders lost time today. Everyone home OK from Wales A and B teams. Andrew flattened his front pipe and had to change it at a check. David was troubled by a slipping clutch but made it back in to change it, he just needs to complete the work in the morning work period. Andrew Edwards (149th, 9th in class) Jon Hinam 177th, Tim Forman 182nd, Gethin Price 189th, David Brick 204th, Craig Bounds (261st).

Simon Wakely 77th, Ashley Wood 112nd, Lee Edmondson 115th, Dylan Jones 129th, Ed Jones 137th, Jamie Paget 219th. Leading the Welsh teams Andrew Edwards 149th, Jon Hinam 175th, Tim Forman 182nd, Gethin Price 185th, David Brick 206th, Craig Bounds 247st. Darren Wilcocks 215th, Justin Wilson 207th, Darren Hughes 282nd, John Burrow 357th, Karl Greenall 339th, Julian Crimp 362rd, Andy Walton (303rd), Andy Elliott (348th). Ireland's Phil McLaughlin 89th, Gordon Clarke 174th, Alain Flinter 366th. France leads for the Trophy from Italy. The Great Britain Team are 10th. Italy heads the Juniors. GB has moved up a place to 7th. Wales "A Team" ( Andrew, Jon, Tim) go up a place to 9th
Day 3
Everyone seems to be ok today except for Andrew. His bike siezed twice today and then stuck in neutral. He managed to get going again and finished the day without loosing time or places. At the work area tonight he had 10 mins to strip the clutch side off the engine, change the clutch basket and reasemble it before having to get the bike in. All went OK and he didn't loose any time. The problem turned out to be the clutch basket breaking up and bits of it locking the gearbox up. After getting the bike into Parc Ferme Andrew did a jigsaw of all the bits and recons he is still missing 4 pieces, these have gone through into the gearbox and can't be recovered without a full engine strip. So it's cross your fingers time for day 5. It will either run Ok or lock up again. Watch this space tomorrow Andrew Edwards 144th, Jon Hinam 175th, Tim Forman 174th, Gethin Price 171st, David Brick 193rd, Craig Bounds 247st. Wales A go up a place to 9th.
Day 4
Day 5
Day 5 is over and only the Moto-X tomorrow to do. Both Welsh teams are home OK but not without a few ups and downs. The info I have is a bit second hand but the truth will be in here somewhere !!I understand that Craig Bounds lost or broke the rear subframe off his bike today but struggled on without it.Andrew struggled with gear selection problems early on following yesterdays mishap, his bike locked up on the 2nd test and in the resulting crash he removed the radiator and lost all water. He rode the rest of the test and then made temp repairs to last him untill he could fit a new one. The bike managed with no water for half a test and ten mins on the going before the temp repair was completed. Thanks to Jon Williams who was on the ball getting clutch parts / radiator / Tools ready for the repairs.Wales A Team are up to 6th with the B Team in 12th. ( Can they make itto the top 10 tomorrow ? )Andrew Edwards 138th / 9th, Jon Hinam 164th / 13th, Tim Forman 168th / 8th, Gethin Price 161st / 16th, David Brick 187th / 19th,, Craig Bounds 229th 29th.
